This is a style intended for woven, non-stretch fabrics, and they should not be heavy weight fabrics.
For this style at standard length of 36", in sizes 1x - 6x, you need 2 1/4 yards of either 58/60" or 44/45" width fabric. (In the narrow fabrics, sizes 5x & 6x would get center seams). If you want it much longer, get extra fabric.
